What is the Donguibogam?
The Donguibogam (東醫寶鑑, "Precious Mirror of Eastern Medicine") is a 25-volume medical encyclopedia compiled in 1613 by the royal physician Heo Jun. Its herbology volume, the Tangaek-pyeon, records hundreds of medicinal substances — their nature, taste, and traditional uses — and is the primary source behind every herb page on this site.
